Amaze Story Trail: BookBench sculptures across Brighton & Hove

Discover more than 30 individually painted BookBench sculptures on a free art trail across Brighton & Hove, from the Marina to Portslade and Patcham. Running from 12 September to 8 November 2026, the Story Trail is organised by Amaze in partnership with Wild in Art and invites everyone to #SitWithUs, explore local creativity and find a place to pause along the way.

Alongside the large sculptures, look out for more than 42 mini BookBenches decorated by local schools, nurseries and community groups. These will appear in indoor and outdoor locations, including libraries, museums, leisure centres and shops. Amaze says the trail has been designed to be accessible to everyone.

The trail is free to visit and no ticket is needed. Download the free Story Trail app to collect sculpture codes and unlock rewards, discounts and offers. A suggested £2 app donation supports the trail and Amaze's work with families with disabled children. For a screen-free adventure, a printed sticker book is available for £5.

The launch Read Along takes place on 12 September, 11:00–12:30, beside artist Fiona Blair's BookBench in the Pavilion Gardens, next to the Pavilion Café. Amaze supports families with children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities in Brighton & Hove and East Sussex. Money raised through the trail helps fund this work.
